TMBRConsult About us

TMBRConsult is an independent timber design and delivery consultancy service owned and managed by Dr David Bylund.
We specialise in the development of novel, timber rich designs and the provision of quality timber based advice and solution finding to architects, engineers, builders, developers and government seeking to develop innovative timber architecture.

About David.David is a registered architect and has a PhD from the University of Western Australia in mid-rise prefabricated timber design and construction.
David has previously been a senior architect at Carabiner architects (formerly Sandover Pinder Architects), a Research Fellow at the University of Tasmania in the Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood (CSAW), part of the inaugural WoodSolutions Mid-rise Advisory Program, Team Lead for Wesbeam's Tall Timber Building Systems program and is the author of several published timber design guides.
David's clients include Stockland, Grange Development, WoodSolutions, Multiplex, Aurecon, Lend Lease, Aecom, Built, Fitzpatrick Partners, Probuild, Strongbuild, Bates Smart, Bowens, Kane Construction, Moelven, CLos, CrossLam Australia, Sernke Australia, XLam, Timberbuilt Solutions, Tim Gibney & Associates (TGA Engineers) Taylor Thompson and Whiting (TTW) and Vistek Engineers.
In addition to discovering novel timber based architectural solutions and developing pathways to facilitate and establish timber design and construction, David enjoys spending time with his children, open water swimming, creative tinkering with vintage cars, motor bikes and all things mechanical, analogue photography, snowboarding and volunteering at his local ADRA soup kitchen.
